sorry about quality of pics but just wanted to share my pics of my tank.
i made the back ground from polystyrene and cement with a mix of teracotta and sandstone pigment .
the tank looks very clean and red when the pic was taken about five weeks ago but now i have removed the plastic plants and the java moss and java fern and algea have taken hold and do the tank justice.
i will post new pics when i have built a new hood.
by the way i built the hood, stand and the tank.

Looks good in the pictures. Keep us updated. Just one thing, are you sure cement is ok in a fish tank, i've never heard of it being used? :good:
 
I read the title and thought "cement background..... this is not going to be good". Looked at the pics though and wow, that looks brilliant! How did you make it?

Also even though you cant see much of it the tank, stand and hood look really good as well, would love to see some more pictures.
 
There is a post in the DIY section, and it takes you step by step on making a cement background, but I do not have a link.
