I've just ordered a 35gall tank and suddenly realised that my 2 x 2litre DIY (Marmite) CO2 kit that runs very nicely on my 20gall may not be enough.
I will have to use the same Arcadia luminaire (50W) over the new tank so the lighting levels will be much lower so less demand on CO2 I would think?
I'm going to hook up another 2liter bottle to the CO2 unit.
Anyone else using DIY on a 35gallon tank? Please let me know how you got on. Any comments please.

Cheers

Steve

DIY will not sufice on a tank that size, use easy carbo or pressurized

Thanks for the reply - do you know that it doesn't work because you have tried it or because that's the common understanding?
I ask because the unit i run now has to be augmented with an airstone to stop the drop checker going yellow.

common knowledge, airstones dont dissolve CO2 very well

when mixing the liquid for the drop checker how do you do it?

Sorry, some confusion here. I run an airstone with air - not CO2 - it helps to lower the amount of CO2 in the water. The drop checker is filled with 4dKH plus 2 drops of pH reagent.

Cheers

4dKH from Aqua Essentials.
The CO2 is high in my 20 gal - just want to see if anyone runs a successful DIY on a 35gallon and how they do it.
