I have done my own diy 2 L bottle of co2 what I need to no when do I no when its finished and when do I need to make up a new one I have a 168 Litre tank

Also I don’t have a proper Diffuser at moment I’m using a air stone at the end of the airline and just put it in the water is this ok at the moment, and what’s the best thing to get I need it to be cheap and easy

I have put it next to my internal filter is this right?

thanks

Georgina

got my lights today i have attached them to the tank lid i have only put 2 on at mo so that 80 watts at the moment up to when i get more plants

Sounds good... airstones are ok for temporary, but you really need a proper CO2 diffusor. Airstones get clogged very quickly and easily.

Something like that would be perfect.

You'll have to measure your CO2 levels and watch it for a while until you get used to how often you need to change the bottle. You may even need to use two bottles. Check the CO2 level at the same time every day until you start seeing it drop significantly, then figure out when you need to refresh it. Then mix a new bottle up two days before it needs to be hooked up.
