where do i exactly put the airstone? i know it sounds like a crazy question but searchrd for the answer with no results

Well inside the tank (Im sure you knew that) and near the filter outlet so the bubbles get blown around the tank.

   yes obviously, i read somewhere that it needed to go in the graval but i didnt see the sense in that, with my outlet being an inch underwater level will this make a difference?

airstone???

what type of airstone, i wouldnt recommend a airstone used for oxygen becase Simply letting it bubble out of an airstone will work, but this method isn't overly efficient since most of the CO2 bubbles escape to the surface
Use a ladder or a ceramic diffuser if you have enough pressure or a diy reactor.

i havent got the airstone yet, but as long as its being pushed round the tank by the outlet would this be sufficent? but ceramic if i can get one, actually only got the bottles

unless the bubbles are micro (such as the ceramic make) the filter outlet pushing them around wont make a diff. It might delay the bubble from rising for about .25 second at most. If you use a ladder then your bubble will be in the water for... lets say... 10-15 seconds... vs 1 with your airstone method. Hence my last post.

Yep seconded. The idea is to keep the CO2 in contact with the water for as long as possible before it reaches the surface.

On the ladder you will notice a 5mm bubble at the bottom of the ladder turn into a 1mm by the time it reaches the surface which is the CO2 being absorbed by the water.

With an airstone you will see a large bubble go straight to the top and the CO2 is lost so pointless really.

The ceramic/glass option is even better at diffusing
