Ok so I always just let my CO2 bubble out from a small airstone and it went directly into the intake of my little internal filter and the way the filter works the bubbles stay in the compartment slowly building up.However I'm hoping to breed shrimp so I have put fine mesh over the filter intake.Could I drill a small hole in the front and plug the CO2 tube right into it or will the suction of the filter suck out the CO2.

I'm not sure im explaining this well enough so i'll try and do a diagram.

Hi there

I have used an external filter intake for c02 and worked fine so what you want to do should work perfectly well although I have noticed shrimps dont like exstra c02 pumped into the tank.

If it is DIY or Nutrafin, would the filter not suck the yeast mix down the line through the filter and into the tank? I have my ladder set up next to my fluval3Plus probs about 1cm away from the side vent (intake) and therefore the diffused CO2 gets distributed around the tank.

I wouldn't risk the filter sucking the mix into the tank. try sucking on the pipe yourself and see if the mix comes down the line first.
