Diy Co2 Mixtures

Can anybody recommend a suitable diy co2 mixture for:
a ) 34 gallon
b ) 4-6 gallon (unsure)

Depends on a lot of factors. What are you using to diffuse? What's the surface agitation like?

As a general rule I'd use 1 x 2l bottle, 2 ucps sugar, 1tsp yeast on the 36 gallon, and for the nano I'd start with 1 x 1l bottle, 1 cup sugar, 1/4tp yeast and see how it goes.

Im using a small round airstone. Im not sure about surface agitation but im using a hang on filter. Co2 is currently at 22.6 ppm.

Does it really matter what type of bottle you use?

the 2 ltr pop (soda for our colonial friends) are pretty much all you need, the will hold a fair amount of pressure and wont shatter if knocked like glass.

I know that excess levels of co2 harms the fish but does it harm the plants? Or do they thrive on it?
