Ok well i think you can use those canisters like for paintballing for a DIY CO2 system thing. Well does anyone know how to do this with sum pictures to help me because i want some plants in my tank and i dont think my lighting is enough.

Thanks for your help. :)

you will need a regulator and a needle valve. and then a diffuser for the tank.

what lights do you have?

Umm iunno i think really cheap ones i think they're only 20 watts. Those 3 things you just named what are they?

- The regulator will regulate the pressure being released from the tank

- The needle valve allows fine control of the output so you can limit it to a certain bubble rate.

The reactor is the method of getting the co2 into the water.

sounds like you should search DIY CO2 on www.google.com

DIY is loads cheaper.

right now my wpg is about .7, PH 7.4, what is KH?

If i do one of those of microbrews with a 2-liter soda bottle i saw searching around do i need a reactor and all that other stuff?

yes, you could just put the co2 pipe into the filter outlet............. i made a forced reactor out of a cheap indoor fountain pump, and a old gravel cleaner..... but i supose you could use a small pop bottle or something simalar :)

i wonder how this would work, might depend on the flow of the filter

with only 0.7 watts per gallon your wont need co2 - you will have to keep low light plants untill you upgrade your lighting.

KH is the buffering papacity of your water - this with thte PH allows you to work out the ammount of CO2 in the water
