I made a DIY co2 injection that works pretty well, I read that if left over night it could drop your PH rapidly (I read that part too late), I went from having a 7.6 PH reading to a 6.8 PH reading! Tonight Im going to leave my air pump on overnight and see what happens to the PH in the morning, but other than that, will doing a water change stabilize my PH?

30ppm CO2 will drop your Ph by 1 wether night or day. Not a problem for fish though as it slowly decreases. don't worry about it.

If you want it to be stable then I don't know why you are worrying about the Ph at all. If you leave it 24/7 the Ph will remain at the lower point 24/7 thus it is stable. However most of us with pressurised will turn CO2 off at night.

Its not the Ph at night that should be worri3ed about it is the CO2 content of the water. IUn the day the plants are using it. At night the plants ignore it and it can build up.

So by all means use an airstone to gass off the CO2 but don't worry about the Ph of the water. It is natural occurrence and we all do it with no problems.

Diy Co2 Dropped My Ph, What to do?

sit back and watch your plants benefit from it :)

you can switch an airpump on at night to gas off the CO2 (switch it off 2 hours before loights on to let CO2 build up again), or just leave it.

Generally they will be fine if the KH is of a suitable level though.
