I made the mixture yesterday afternoon ,and so far not one bubble has come out on it's own. When I've given the bottle some pressure by squeezing it, a flock will come out at once. Is this normal, or should I make a new mixture?

You probably have a leak somewhere. They are usually where the air line enters the lid. How did you seal the connection? I wasn't able to get a seal with silicone I ended up using plumbers goop and haven't had any problems since

The DIY mix should produce co2 within around half an hr, as Js says you probably have a leak.

I could hear it squeak through the hole, so I used some sealant (and added some yeast before that) and now it's bubbling more than I expected (about a rush of 6-8 bubbles then a few second rest and repeat). All is good though and my PH is stable and my plants haven't died yet so all is good. B)

What kind of diffuser are you using? How big is your tank, and how many bottle do you have?

I'm interested because I have done quite a bit with my DIY CO2.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner...I didn't even realize you had responded to this topic. I have a 20G, and use 1 2L bottle and currently run it into my filter and let the impeller do its work. It's really loud and not very effective, but I'm getting a glass diffuser soon so that should remedy that.
