Seachem says that Excel really is designed to compliment CO2 injection and one shouldn't necessarily be a complete replacement for the other. That's at least what the manufacturer says.

Yes, i have used that successfully in my 22g tank, the riccia simply went crazy as if on steroids.

I use this on my 50g with 1.3wpg with red sea bio ferm c02 and dose 8 ml a day. It's working a treat for me at the min.
