ok here is the backstory, my brother gave me a used 20 gallon tank for x-mas to replace the 10 gallon my community fish were in. the deal was however i had to take down at least one tank completly. So i took his advice and took down two of my five gallon tanks (jaspers and Raynes) and placed them into the ten gallon and divided it up. now rayne is my female and jasper is one of my boys. they have had tanks side by side forever. i put in there favorite orniments, jasper a mountian he hides in, and rayne her floating log. the fun thing for me thought jasper would scare rayne and put lots of plants on her side so she could hide in. turns out jasper is scared of her!
is there anything i can do besides plants to settle jasper down. should i just leave them be and hope they adjust, rayne seems to be enjoying herself.
thanks for your help.
i needed to take a tank down i had like 6 active tanks in my bed room, now i am down to 5.

Give him a few days to adjust, some bettas freak out a little if they move to a larger tank :) so it may not be all Rayne's fault! :p

well both are doing much better, infact Jasper started a bubble nest. maybe he was just confused he didn't know what to do with a beautiful lady next to him. :p

if I have to have two bettas in the same tank I will use a non see threw divider, and if they can still see the shadows of the other betta I add another divider right next to it to 100% block the view.

do you have a filter?

because i got a 20 gallon and a 150 filter.. does that number tell you anything about it? anyways i think the filter is too much for my guy. and ive been trying to find ways to stop it from moving so much water.

anyways, the pop bottle idea doesnt work, and im afraid he'll get stuck in it, or around it or anything.. and he seems to dumb to realize that when he gets caught in some strong current to go down, instead of fight it.

thought of lowering the water level to half aswell, but im sure you all know that doesnt work, cause the filter stops working properly.. because he keeps spending all his time at the top of the tank, and not playing with any of the cool toys and places to hid that ive made for him..

any help suggestions?

im thinking about getting a couple corys.

sorry, i made a whole thread to this topic, you can answer there if you like.. thanks.
