i am planing on dividing my tank in to 2 for 2 bettas the one concern is, how do i heat it. do i need seperate heaters or is 1 enough?

so if i put small holes in the divider will it be ok?

what are you using to divide? My tank with 4 compartments is divided with perspex with holes drilled in, you can also use plastic cancas which already has holes

You can buy tank dividers and those will work fine. Or if you want to make one then you can use plastic craft mesh and that works great, too (and super duper cheap). As long as there is good water flow between the two sections then you only need one heater.

Tank divider kits are the obvious choice

If not, you know those plastic things you hold documents together with? they are long and the length of a side of A4 paper. Well you can cut them to size and use aquarium sealant to hold them in place or clips, but you need to put the plastic holders on all 4 sides of the plastic mesh or else the fish might barsh through it
