Divided Betta Tank.

I take it your having problems with dividing your tank?

If it's the first time you have tried or even considered doing it homemade(of sorts) then it can be quite tricky.
I have done it two ways.

1st way.
Get 4 strips of anything solid about 3-6mm glass or plastic and silicone close together 2 per side of the tank then get a peice of glass or plastic and simply slot inbetween the runners.

or 2nd way
and that is get a peice of glass cut(it's very cheap) and get a strip of rubber(like on a draft excluder) make sure the glass is about 1/2" smaller than the walls of the tank and then attach the rubber to either side and it simply adjusts in to place.

I usually get 1 hole drilled for the heater and if your local glazier is competent and patient with small jobs then i get additional vertical slots cut into it so water can pass through but the fish can't.

This may seem like a bit of a longway around but my local glassman is very good and also very cheap.

Here are pics of my 6 gallon 4/way divided Betta tank:

It is simply a clearseal tank (£20) divided by clear 3mm acrylic (£18 for a sheet big enough). I drilled holes in the acrylic to let the water pass through and am using a filter in the far left compartment with tubing so the water goes into the far right compartment, thus creating a current so that all the compartments get filtered properly.

It was fairly easy to do, the hardest part was sealing the acrylic to the sides of the tank.

I am trying to convince my mum that having betta's in a dividied tank isnt bad for them.

I soo want to split my 8.5 into half and Have 2 bettas maybe even into thirds.

Ok maybe 4 but to start of two.

Also my light busted so would betta be ok without a tank light. My tank is just oposite from the window and the light gets enough to light the tank but is not in direct sunlight.
