hey guys and girls. since my re-do of the tank with eco-complete substrate and a daily dosing of ferts all my plants have grown incredibly. recently i started on the DIY CO2, and the melon sword literally had a new leaf that doubled in size PER DAY. that's all nice and fun BUT:
before and now with the DIY CO2, the melon swords have put out about 3x the amount of leaves they had when i bought them. the problem is, the new leaves DONT look like Melon sword leaves should. So it looks like i have two plants together there. all of the original leaves are there, with their standard shape. all the new leaves look very long, starting near the bottom of the stem, they are very long in shape, not round at all. and they seem to have wavy edges rather than the smooth nice edges of the melon sword-type leaves.
what could be causing that? based on www.theplantedtank.co.uk, it could be a Calcium, CO2 or Magnesium deficiency. without any pictures, which one would you think it is?
i dont dose Calcium or Magnesium independently like i do others, but they should be in the Flourish and Flourish Trace mixes no?
is it the CO2 then? which i just started on about 4 days ago so it hasn't affected new leaves yet?
thanks for the help, i'm really trying to do this right and every suggestion you guys have made in the past i've put it to use!
EDIT: got a picture from a couple of weeks ago. the blue is what i think a melon sword leaf should look like. the red is what the new leaves look like on my two melon swords...
