what other Cichlids can live with disscus

Any fish that won't bother the discus, but can live in a ph of 4.0. You'll want to filter the water through peat. I kept mine with Blue rams, cardinal tetras, a golden nugget, and some rummy nose tetras. Very rewarding fish to keep, good luck!

Why would you say "but can live in a ph of 4.0"? This is not needed for discus nor have I ever heard of it being recommended for them. I have, on the other hand, had discus spawn in my 7.4 pH water which is what my cardinals live in as well.

I am happy to be proved wrong, if this is the case.

A lower ph then 6 will cause un stable water stats. I would reconmend no going as low as 4 and to be honest you dont need to.

What does 4.2 do?

I meant 7.0, sorry people, I'm really screwing up today !

Discus are prone to disease and so long as you can ensure that every fish that are kept in the same tank is 100% healthy then most fish would be fine. Some fish carry internal bacteria that doesn't harm themselves but can be dangerous to discus. Very active fish like silver dollars are a no go because discus are slow magestic fish.

A shoal of tetras may look quite nice with discus.

I was about to freak lol. Its ok.. we shall forgive you ;)

There IS actually a fish species that lives at a pH of 4. I cannot remember what it is right now.. but when I remember I'll post it. :)
