I bought 3 emerald cory cat about 4 days ago. One didn't survive the move and died the next morning and just today I can't seem to find one of my cory cat. this morning before work I checked and there were two lively cory swimming and now one is missing. At first I tried to look for it through the glasses at every angle but I couldn't find him so i was drawing near my water change anyway so during the water change I look under every ornament and rocks and inbetween plants but I just couldnt find him.

I have a 20 gal tall and the tank mates are 5 neons, 4 glowlight, 3 fancy guppies and 3 otto. My water parameter are fine and everything is running great except that part.

The only thing i can think of is that one died and the other fish ate it... but i doubt they can eat the body within 9 hours can they? Its really strange I also checked my floor incase it hopped out but nothing.

Have you checked inside the filter? It's possible he could have got sucked in.

I believe the Chinese have developed a new stealth armour technology and it might be that your fish has managed to get his hands on it. I would be careful, if he has ties to the Chinese, he could be dangerous.

i lost a guppy last week for two days then it suddenly appeared again in perfect condition. Chances are though your fish died and was eaten. they can be eaten and have no trace left in under 30 minutes or less. my pleco made very light work of a large dead gourami once, if i hadd'nt seen it with my own eyes i never would have believed it

as people have said it more then likely died without you knowing and became fish food, two of my smaller fish disapeared in my tank and ive never seen them again

Or it could be explained by new Chinese military technology like tizer suggested.
They're suprisingy sneeky these Chinese.
You have to keep an eye on them.

ah... that explains why my Chinese algae eater was lost 3 weeks ago and now one of my platy is missing, because I am Chinese. IN MY FACE!!!

I have experienced a disappearing fish twice. What kind of filter do you have? I have a mammoth one in my second tank and a Cardinal tetra died behind it - it was a full day before I moved the filter and it floated out from behind.

The other experience I had was a disappearing guppy. It disappeared over xmas when I was away and I suspect the ravenous tank mates ate him. I still can't fully believe this is what happened as he wasn't small and the only tank mates were other guppies (all fry and juvenile) but the Chinese never showed any interest in Dave before so it still remains my best hypothesis.

I have an aquaclear 25, its wierd but I have already acceppted that he died and was gobbled up. Thanks guys.

Also since the chinese are that slick I'm just glad I didnt get any north korea fish lol.
