help me,

i set up a nursery tank for my fry, with water from my main tank etc..

i got some babies (about 8 all together) and put them into this tank, after a couple of days they have all disapeared without a trace, there is nothing in there to get them, but i do have gravel in there.

do the babies hide in the gravel till there bigger, some one please help me

Check your filter!!! Fry will hide in the gravel and plants as well and can be very hard to spot, but the biggest risk is the filter. I am always having to rescue new fry from the filter they have about a 50-50 chance when they get sucked in. I have an Eheim internal filter and the fry have at least a chance of being rescued, not sure about other filter types though.

Does the fry tank have a filter at all and how long has it been setup and how many gallons does it hold? Small livebearer fry can only take 8hrs to fully rot away in tank water.

my tank is 12inches cube. and has a Fluval 1 pump in in, the water is matured and changed to keep it clean.

The gravel is quite large, that why i thought they might be in there, but i wasn't sure if they did that?

if they do hide in the gravel, how long can they stay there, as i havent seen them now for a few days.

i beginning to conceed to the fact that they have gone to the big fish tank in the sky.

Yes but old long has the filter been set up with an ammonia source of some sort? Even if you put mature tank water in the fry tank it won't change a thing and the filter will still cycle when it comes into contact with ammonia/fish poop, nitrites and ammonia are very lethal to tiny livebearer fry.
