I have a 50 gallon tank with 5 zebra danios, 5 glowlight tetras, 5 neon tetras, 5 bronze cory and 3 sailfin mollies. However, i the last couple of weeks ive lost 1 danio, 1 neon tetra and a cory without trace?! theres no way they can jump out. how can they be dissapearing??

ive checked the filter... no luck - the only answer i can think of is that they are dying and being eaten by the others during the night??!!?

I'm not sure that any of the above fish would be able to eat a dead fish in a night, althought i dont know that its not possible either. Have another luck all around your tank, in the decorations etc and check, other than that i aint sure.

hmmm im confused.... checked everywhere and nowhere to be seen.

Are you sure they could have jumped out? Look around the floor and under the tank stand and on the walls  . You never know they could have jumped out. Or they could have died and got caught between some of your plants. Check there. Also they could still be there and you just can't see such little fish in such a huge tank. Also if you have any caves or driftwood in the tank. Pick them up and look inside them.

Well if You ask me they may be not lost at all maybe you miscounted your fish... They could just be in the school of tetras and cories...Try looking into it. Its a possibility.

I've had this happen. I search high and low in the tank only find they've jumped out, even when you think that there is possibly no way it could have happened. Another thing, if you have snails, those buggers will eat up a carcass really really fast.

no snails - i reckon they must have jumped for it. ive got juwel tank with original cover - and the gaps are really small.....

weird

Couple months ago I bought three small algae eaters (1 slightly bigger than the other 2). For a couple weeks all was fine. Then one day I could not find the larger one anywhere, and my top has no where for one to jump out. A couple weeks go by and on the afternoon of a morning that I KNOW I saw the 2 one is just gone. A few days later the other one---gone. Never seen them since.....

I lost a scisscortail Ras from my Jewel Record 70Lweeks back. Just disappeared they were the only fish in the tank. 3 went in, 1 disappeared. Moved everything, emptied filter... nothing. Expecting a corpse if I ever move the tank. It must have jumped. Lost one of my shrimps to jumping too. No idea how he fitted out!

There is a connection in all these strange happenings - its all going on in Juwel tanks! i have a juwel too...... fastly turning into a ghost tank

WELL Unless their being Abducted by Alien Fish from a Paralel Universe/Another Planet.

I've got a possiable Solution for you. I've never had this happen Myself.
But I remember reading, in a book, Which I still have.

That sometimes especally if you live in the country and have an OPEN Well where you get your Water From.

There are small things Called "Hydras" that can live in the water of the well, they aren't very big, that WITHOUT a Magnafying Glass they are almost impossiable to see, They come out in the Dead of Night when your Lights aren't on and Attack a Fish and are capable of eating one in a Very short Period of Time.

I know this seems Stpid, and I'll probably get plenty of Laughs over it. (BUT)

I just thought it was WORTH something Checking Into...

GOOD LUCK and KEEP US POSTED... -_-
