What is the best way to make sure new plants are disinfected and properly cleaned before putting them in your aquarium...so far i've only ever run them under a warm tap, and looked for snails....though I still have the hitch hiking buggers in my tank...lol

I've heard bleach mixed down can be used....is this true....if so what measurements water to bleach do you use??
Or are there aquarium style disinfectants you can clean plant life with??

When i get new plants, i just run them under cold water for a couple of mins, then add to them to my tank.

Yeh just given them a wash under the tap to remove any copper snail treatment residues that might be on them and put them in your tank, thats all they need.

I dunk mine in a concentrated saline solution(to make this just dump salt into water until it stops dissolving) and then rinse them under the tap. This saved me from a probable snail infestation after I got my java moss as I could see snail shells in it.
