Hello,

I'm new to the forum, but not to fish. I have a 55 gallon tank which I've had for about 3 years. One of my Gourami's has a few white areas on her. She has had this for a few months and it doesn't seem to bother her. I tried to get rid of it before, but got discouraged, and when it didn't spred, I said oh well. Well one of my "head and tailight tetras" got some fuzz on one eye, so I figured I'd tackle it again. I tried a fungus treatment and it did nothing, then Maracyn (Erythromyicin) again nothing, so just finished Maracyn 2 (Minocycline), and again no effect.

I'm going to give them all a break from medicine for a bit, but don't know what to do? Should I try a copper product? raise the temp? I know it's not ick because I've had that before and it spread fast. This has been around a while.

Thx
Tom

Any chance of Pic's or Waterstats please? Also, can you tell us the tank stocking, the filtration being ran and what your usual mantanance involves?

With disease, we tend not to just look at how to cure the problem, we also tend to try and advise on preventing it re-occuring, so more information will help us with this respect, or even in making a deffinate diagnosis...

All the best

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.

sorry it took so long, I've been having trouble with my camera. Now I can't figure out how to attach a picture here??

currently the pH is 6.8, as for the others I'm not sure. I have it tested periodically at the pet store and most figures are fine.

Each week I change 10 gallons of the 55 and vacuum a third of the tank. Also rinse the filter and add some "stress zyme" bio filter. Once a month I change the filter and carbon.

As far as other fish. I have a mix of docile fish. I have heard that one inch of fish per gallon of water. I have about 47 inches of fishies all told.

To attach a picture go to a site like www.photobucket.com and register (it\'s free!!!) Then you can upload pictures to that site. Further you can now go to your pictures and look for a text box that says IMG Code. When you have found the text box simply click the text in that box and go to the forum. Right click and select paste. You should see the code entered into the message field. Your picture is now hosted and accessable to everyone. The right code looks like this: [removeIMG]http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d115/knightfuelfire/Picture009Cropped.jpg[/IMGremove] Of course without the remove. The Image will appear like this:
