i have a tank that at the moment containts 3 dwarf gourami, 4 gourami (indian, blue, gold and lace) and 2 congo tetras also a rainbow shark it is 92 litres can i add a discus or would i be better starting a new tank for the discus as i am new to this would appreciate any advice

I wouldnt add any more fish. Let alone discus. They need very good care, so i would start a new tank for them as you have suggested before. goodluck with them. They are remarkable fish.

And :hi: to the forums!

thanks for advice just got to convince hubby to let me have another tank got 3 already heres hoping

It is best to keep 4-6 discus together.
You do not want to have gouramis with them. Anything aggressive or overactive is a no no.
Discus like water temps 83-86 degrees.

thanks for info helped a lot have nearly talked him into another tank just for discus as he likes them too but were to put it will have to evict one of the kids i think so can use their room what do you reckon is the minimum size tank for say 4 discus
and is it best to go to breeder for my first ones

General rule is 10 gallons per fish. Bigger is always better.

have convinced him to let me have another tank getting it tommorrow will let you know when cycled thanks for advice

 well got the tank silly boy let me buy it on my own so bought a 210l one now cycling
