hello eveyone just a little help just started with discus and two off my discus have mated and are laying eggs on my heater i think they are going to die on their am i right and would i be better getting a cone i was trying to keep the tank natural with bogwood and real plants so would a bit of slate be ok instead and are they good parents aswell because my angels allways at there eggs

Congrats on getting a breeding pair, if they want to lay eggs they will on whatever surface they think suitable, even on the glass of the tank, however raising the eggs in a community tank is nearly impossable, they will try to protect the eggs but another fish will probably eat them. You could put another heater in the tank and turn that one off just to let them practice parenting. I would leave them practicing egg laying for a while as it can take time for a young pair to get it right, and then move them to another tank for breeding in the future.
good luck
regards Angel
