if your discus are not coming to the top of the tank at feeding time then there may be cause for concern. The best way to tell the health of a discus, or many other fish for that matter if for them to come to the top of the tank when you approach or gentley tap the top. one of the best sights in the world is to see a tank full or baby angel or discus at feeding time.... looks stunning.

I don't want to cause no arguements now guys. It's not the fact I don't want to get rid of my games console, but I won't get near enough the money it's worth, and my mam won't let me get a bigger tank than 24" anyway, it was a struggle convincing her to allow me this cube! I'm going to set the tank up quite a while before I get discus, so all parameters should be steady, and i'll monitor them just incase. I'm planning on having high light so the plants pearl alot through the day, and adding an airstone at night, maybe even have a little ripple on the top of the water.

They will start at the top begging to be fed, then they will feed at the middle level as the food sinks, and finally on the bottom when it has sunk. They will take most from the bottom as they like to graze for food.
