WOW bright discus :)

I Love Orange

What is it called ????

Shes still young and her colors havnt fully developed yet. It was sold as a Marlboro Red but I think its actually a Red Melon. When fully mature the red color in her fins will cover most of her body.

Jim your fish have paired!? Congrats!!! I have never really hand any luck with breeding my fish. I had an Angelfish pair, the female laid eggs but the male didn't fertilize them and ended up always eating them. I got Discus. A female ended up laying, but none of the males fertilized them. I got Rams. The male and female both bred, but then they both ate them. Hopefully I will get a pair that works someday

how come the eggs look white?
id say a red melon aswell

hope they hatch for you

That pic was taken shortly after the eggs were dropped. They dont darken until a few hours after the male fertilizes them. I didnt want them to hatch, its a community tank and the two discus that paired are not compatible. They already ended up getting eaten as they usually do. That fish is too young to know what she is doing anyway. She only about 8 months old.

red melons,i have a pair identical,i have 4 pairs with eggs at the moment, had them up to wigglers then they get eaten as i have 3 pair in each tank, mine breed like wildfire all my pairs..iam going to let 3 pairs go shortly and close one tank down as we go on holiday in 3 weeks for 3 weeks and my son wont be able to take care of 2 tanks full of discus,,kenny
