Hi

Having trouble with one of my discus, he's spitting out his food. Trouble is, it's not constant, so I'm having trouble telling if it's something wrong with him, or him just being fussy?
He'll spit out meaty food, like turkey heart. But he'll keep down other foods like bloodworm, brineshrimp and even discus pellets!
I have another discus in the tank, who'll gladly except any kind of food, except pellets. I'd had them both for about a year now.

He is still active and behaving normally. Could he be constipated? Fussy Eater? Should I just put them on a diet for a while, and see if it sorts itself out?

i doubt its constipated , it would most likely be off its food altogether and possibly a bit bloated/fat looking . if its wolfing down other foods , and is showing no other symptoms such as hiding away , darkening, headstanding, stringy white poo etc ist most likely just being fussy

+1 fussy eater

1 of my discus wouldn't eat any frozen foods i put in -bloodworm/brineshrimp, until i gave him beefheart, but strangely he now also eats bloodworm :/
It's like people, we don't like every food we try
if you want to give them turkey heart, put in half the amount you are doing now, as only 1 of them is going to eat it, and put the food the fussy discus eats in with it
