I worm when new to the tank and during/after any problems. I do not do it routienly though :good:

Worming is an area of discus keeping where you have different opinions. Some people swear by it, others swear at it and a few (like me) sit on the fence :good:

I read that worms are always present in discus, but they only present a problem when the fish is stressed or been ill as above i only worm them when i think they need to be wormed ie tank change or at particular times where they have been subdued to a particular amount of stress, it seems to work for me ok.

You wouldn't take medicine to treat something you didn't have. I treat my fish the same way.

i had a discus die on me for what i fort was leavin the heat off for two days but still not sure so i wormed them yesterday,
ill post a pic of the product i used . and woke up to EGGS ive had eggs before but they have never lasted more than 20 mins there still here now but i think i now have two pairs in my tank,

ive wormed them now but from what ive read its good to do it once a year like a flu jab ..

this is what ive used

glad some one else has used this stuff , was a bit worrid with it being treatment in to the tank.... espically when you pore it in as the water goes so cloudy but cleans up in a few mins..

Did you put it in boiling water and allow it to disolve fully then introduce it over a hour thats the correct way to apply the stuff and i think you only need a once scoop with the spoon supplied to every 125 litres

If Kisuri wormer plus is as good for worms as it is for flukes, it is worthless IMO  Black-market Flubenol is your friend :shifty: I have used Kisuri for flukes before, something it clames to treat, and the infection did not get better, even at a mild overdose...

one spoon full for every 30 gallons in a cup of boilling hot water and pour in over an hour, correct....
it says on the packet for flukes and woms

whats flukes??

Type of parasite ;) They attack the gills and skin, eventually killing the host if left untreated, but thankfully relatively slow moving. One of a select few parasites that cannot be heat treated on discus though, as that is what I do/would do for most...
