Actually i take that back about Bettas i just read they can be kept in anything from 18c to 28c, didnt know they can live in such high temps.

Yea i think especially with heavily man made fish they will take alot of different water conditions, maybe wild types wont like it but ya'kno, same as discus been told discus will die in water under 27 degrees like instantly but one of my heaters broke and the tank was sat at 26 for a lil while till i'd noticed and they had no obvious change in behavior. Gotta draw from personal XP most of the time i think (obviously listen to experts aswell) but will always hear conflicting info I think alot of care sheets etc for water stats are drawn from wild caught fish, but when that fish has been tank bred for 30-40 years they have been born in that many diff water stats it doesn't matter so much.
