Hello i have a load of free swimmers but it appears they are falling fowl to the internal juwel filter, ive used the air pipe to regulate the flow but still it seems alot are been sucked into the intakes.

Whats the best filter to use for discus im really after as little as possible losses really and im happy to purchase an appriopriate filteration system

Thanks. :good:

Air powered sponge filtration is best for any fry, including discus.

Hi yeah my mate uses them but are they good enough for a 125 litre tank to keep it clean

thanks.

All sorted thanks got a air powered sponge filter from my mate and seems to be going well, i left it in with a small filter so that the cycle doesnt mess up i understand there maybe a slight peak but im doing daily changes with the fry anyway so things should go well.

thanks. :good:

When you run enough air to them they will keep the tank reasonably clean. As you are doing, frequent water changes help, fry tanks need this. You might as well be cleaning the bottom when doing the water changes.

I toss a box filter with floss in once my angel fry hit about pea body size. I've had problems with them sneaking into the box filter & getting stuck when they are smaller.
