Hey guys,

Since last week I have been seeing some interesting behavior from the three big Discus. Interesting breeding behavior that is.

About 10 minutes ago, I walked into my room, and I saw one of my Discus acting a little weird. She (as of now) was scraping up against a pot, and I wasn't sure what was going on. I went in for a closer examination and found her laying eggs :D No seems like they want to fertilize them, and the big male ate a few, she didn't even stop him. Hopefully someone will do the job next time, and maybe I will get some babies :D !

Just thought I would share the good news,

DL

Over one hurdle onto the next lol, just keep it up and they will get it right :good:

Thanks Drew,

So far nothing much has changed. The big guy (what I still think to be male) is showing more and more attention, but the female won't let him fertilize yet. I took a quick video from a few minutes ago, and will get it up in a second.

Eggs are gone :(

Big guys ate em' :(

Oh well, maybe next time! :D
:good: just my 2 pennies worth when i was breeding discus i tried all the pots breeding cones you name it and in the end after many many attempts and diffrent aquascapes my cobalts bred in a standard set up on the side of an unused internal filter  spent a fortune on trying to breed them got bored and move on to breeding dovi's
but all my discus in a comunal tank with tetras and clown loach and they bred like wild fire ..

all im trink to say is be patient and you will get your wrigglers

ps the vid is great and you have really nice healthy looking fish :D

Great news, mine were practising for 5 months till they got it right. They go to all the trouble of cleaning the area, laying the eggs then they go and eat them  good luck
you will need alot of patience but you will be rewarded in the end with the amazing sight of discus bringing up their young
