At what age can Discus breed? I have a 55G tank with two AquaClear 70 filters on and a 200W heater that I keep set at 82F. I have two alenquer discus and two gold pigeon blod discus. They are all about 3 to 4 inchs long right now but I have had them for almost a year.

i think the general consensus is around 18 months or so and obviously only if you have a matched pair. my discus are about the same size as yours and they do show interest in courtship at times but sometimes one doesnt so im pretty sure about the 18 months timeframe. I suppose it could be earlier/later dependent on the pair and water parameters

It can vary between strains, and I think wild strains tend to mature slower then the domesticated strains. I believe 10-12 months for domestics and 18 for wild strains.
