Ive been looking into yo-yo loaches to go in my discus tank and wasent sure if they would be to 'energetic' for my discus and maybe stress them out. So i was lookin for some other opinions.

Thank you

Josh

I have a Pakistani Loach (which is of course is also known as the YoYo loach), although i dont have Discus i do know a little about the YoYo's behaviour having watched mine in a community tank.

Ive discovered they are not as active as say a Clown Loach is, and they do tend to find a spot to hide in, mine hangs out with my Microsynodontis (Small African Dwarf Catfish) and is relativly passive for a loach. He digs through the gravel looking for scraps of food and tends to either hide in the same spot as my catfish (between a rock and a plant where theres very little room) or laying on the spine of a silk plant leaf sideways, or even burrowed into the base of some other hiding place :)

Personally i think they are very passive friendly fish that dont dart about the tank in a frenzy like a Clown Loach tends to do.

I must admit at the London Aquarium they keep Discus with Cardinal Tetras and at my local LFS they have a huge display tank with Discus, Black Phantoms, Rummy Nosed Tetras, Cory's & Clown Loaches in. Clown Loaches are defintaly more playful and active than YoYo's & i would also say that Rummy Nosed Tetras being energetic middle swimmers would be more in the face of Discus than a YoYo would.

Id say give it a try and see how it goes.
