One of my Discus spawned some eggs around 2 - 3 weeks ago but nothing hatched. It sometimes goes on its side and swims strangely next to where it spawned its eggs, on the Juwel internal filter. Is it just because its ready to spawn again?

And is it normal for nothing to come of Discus eggs?

If only one discus layed eggs of corse none of them hatched . But maybe that was a typo. Anyway dicus eggs wont hatch unless the Ph is at or below 7 and the Gh is around 5 or less. If the same discus are swimming in the same spot they are probably intrested in laying eggs again

Theres a pair...Ph is 6.6 - 6.8....and what is GH?

gH - measure of how soft your water is.
It's perfectly possible that the male of the pair is not yet fertile (too young), I've heard of this happening to other people (well, their fish, at least...). Or else it could be a water chemistry/quality issue.
It sounds like she is interested /getting ready to lay again.

The male is the biggest one in the middle of my photo, and the female is the orange one below. Water quality is fine if you mean clarity/cleanness. Ph, ammonia, nitrate & nitrite are fine.

Your discus do look extremely young. I have a pair that are about 18 months old. They have spawned a number of times but the male hasnt quite got the hang of it yet :D :D I dont think he realises he is meant to follow her and fertilise the eggs, he seems to like eating the eggs as soon as she lays them!! Just leave them to it they will get the hang of it eventually. They may lay eggs and eat them 10 times, the eggs may hatch and they eat the fry 10 times. Unfortunately you just have to be patient and leave them to it!!

Oh and your water parameters are fine. If there spawning their happy!! :D :D

Hope this helps

James
