I went into my room today, very happy and whistling because my Dwarf Puffers are going to be on my doorstep tomarrow. I can't wait! Well, anyways, as I entered my room, I saw my water was a little foggy in my DP's future tank. So, I took a closer look. There was this white, wavy stuff all over the walls. Just a bit of algae I suppose. So, I got my algae-no-more cleaning scrubber and got to work. As I did this, I startled all the junk at the bottom caused by my crappy PetCo plants. I took the plants out. Now even more junk came out. Now the water was extremely murkey and yucky. I previouly bought duckweed, which is a topwater plant if you don't know. It clogged my expensive filter and messed up the whole tank! I cleaned it out with siphened water and put it in my 5 gallon for my goldfish, along with the plants. I then cleaned the whole thing out and re-arranged everything. I have plastic plants in there now.
I added a bit more salt and some stress coat tonic to the water. It's allready starting to clear. The tank looks better than ever though! So something good came out of something bad I guess!
But, will the tank be allright for the puffers tomarrow? I expect them at the end of the day on Thursday. I have two power filters running in there that are very fish-tank-experianced. They have a lot of beneficial bacteria in them. I didn't clean out the gravel because I needed the bacteria.
