I was at my LFS today stocking up on dechlor & needed a new heater.
I went to look at the fish as usual.
They'd just got a delivery in, so the tanks were full of bags with fish in them, they also had a lot of work experience kids in.
Anyway, was looking at one tank with Bettas, & realised some of the bags were torn, then I saw several Betta boys were free in the tank flaring at each other!
I knew something had to be done quickly, so spoke to the person nearest to me who looked at me quite blankly, so told her to get get an experienced staff member fast
He was horrified when I showed him the tank & quickly separated the fish.
I think maybe the work experience kids should've been better supervised & told him so
Luckily no damage had been done, probably due to the fish having been in transit & subdued, but I hate to think what might have happened had nobody noticed.
For once I was in the right place at the right time, & got my dechlor for free as a thank you . . . result!
