Has anyone ever just mysteriously lost their Oto catfish?!
I have/had 3 Leopard Oto's in my tank, I definitely saw 2 around 4 days ago and now 2 of them seem to have completely vanished! They cannot be hiding anywhere, I have one that I kept thinking was different ones, but it is in fact the same one each time.
I dont have anything in my tank that would attack the fish, so I don't think they have been eaten. Could they have just died for no apparent reason and been eaten once dead?
Its such a shame as I really love these little guys and just cant get my head around where they can I have gone?!
Also, my Angelfish passed away last week
he developed cataracts on one of his eyes which at first seemed to be clearing up. Then all of a sudden it got much much worse, and the eye popped right out. He seemed to be finding it difficult to see food and when I would feed the tank, he would just let whatever food I put in pass him right by. He then started having trouble with his other eye, like a growth on it? I'm not sure wether he had a disease in both of his eyes rather than cataracts but I think he just couldnt cope with not being able to see and perhaps died from getting weak from no food. What do you guys think?
So my tank looks pretty bare now with no main fish and I definitely want another Angel. I have been looking online and at first I really wanted an Altum but I am worried my tank wont be suitable, in terms of height, temperature and PH so I think they are out of the question. They also seem to like being in groups which I just cant accommodate in my tank.
Has anyone got any suggestions for other types of angels that are maybe similar in appearance to the altums but not so difficult to care for? I had a Koi previously and he was a big softy, kept himself to himself and was just lovely
