well water levels from the freshwater master test kit are PERFECT, 6.8 PH 0Nitrite 0 ammonia 30 Nitrate

BUT for some reason my water is still foggy, i used things to clear the water, only makes it worst, i took out 40-50% water , still cloudy, fish dont seem to be happy either, they hide nehind the plants, 1 stays at the top, only the ottos do there job, but also have slowed down, plants are doing fine, might it be that i have 60 watts of light in 55 g tank(usa) putting me only a lil over 1wpg and yet i have 2 pressurized CO2 systems? but even before the 2nd 1 the water was this way and fish were acting that way, this is realy worrying me, plz help!

Need to look at your stock list of fish in the tank, which type and how many.
Do you over feed.
What filter do you use how many gallons does it turn over an hour.

dont over feed
have had the same fish in the same tank wen it was clear

they are 2 blue gourami
1 gold gourami
1 rosy barb
4 otto
3 gold barb

hang on filter, not sure bought its stats but its fro tanks bigger than mine and filters have been changed

the tank has a white smokey look only at the top, the bottom is mildly clear-> this all happened wen i added some more flourite substrate that i thought i cleaned, wen it was prolly half clean, but that was a while back...

dont know if this matters but theres 20-30 plants counted by stem

That not much stock for a 55gal so that not the cause.
Do you run filter floss that gets rid of fine particles in the water.
Added any meds lately.

You could try some kitchen paper float it a the top of the tank to see if that removes some of the dust from the substrate.

melafix, just today, but water was cloudy anyway, and the usual plant fertilizer

and lastly clear water thing, to "clear" the water

brb in an hour and a half

It is a 55gal tank and not a 55 litre, what your tap nitrate reading as i wondering if the benefical bacteria colony has quite built up enough yet, and that why the tank is still cloudy looking.
I would ask in the plant section of the forum if fertlisers can cloud the water up, never used them so can't answer that question.
Are you sure you don't have rotting plant debris in the tank causing it to go cloudy.

could the fish being unhappy be to do with the co2..... maybe not enough o2 in the water for them?? don't know if that would make it cloudy though?

no dead plants, siphon tank weekly, fertilizers dont cloud up water substrate does, i know its the substrate(thinK) but dont know why its not going away..

Never thought of that wiggle do you have enough aeration in the tank as if the filter hardly ripples the surface that can cause a tank to look cloudy.
enough aeration for sure
ripples arent giving cloudy look , its from he new substrate, basically i want to know how to rid of it, i wasnt clear water again :(

i think the fish are pissed about the Co2 but im gnna have 4.7wpg at end of this month so i need the Co2

it could also be the substrate and a bactrerial bloom.... i just want to get rid of it

Right just one last word check your filter out with the lfs just to make sure it big enough turn over for your tank.

I have found Internal filters reduce cloudy water quicker than external however all I can see is that your filter isn't strong enough. I have two filters in my 75 gallon a external and internal the external wasn't doing a great job clearing the cloudy water about 1 hour after placing my 32 gallons filter into the 75 gallon which was a internal it was crystal clear....hope that helps in some way :)

I run two filters in all my tanks as it never bad to over filter a tank as long as the current is not blowing the fish aboutAnd if one fails one day you have a back up, good luck hope you sort it out.
