dimesions for a holding female

i was curious what size a holding female should have to be apart from the other fish and have a better chance at a sucessful clutch.... i would letr her spit them or just strip her at a certain elapsed time.


my plan is to get a few acrylic barracks made or just take a 30gallon tank and put dividers in them.

but what size would be good for them!

also this is for aulonocara and copadichromis females - largest currently is 3"

perhaps 6x10x10 dont know maybe you guys do

They don't need much room at all for this because it's very temporary - 6x10 is fine, but what do you plan on using to grow all these fish out?

20 and 29 gallons depending on the amount i will keep them,ill grow a few to adults for a better value but most will go out the door at 1-2" big.

all the breeders will be in 30 gallon pre-drileld tanks, i picked up 6 of them 2 days ago for some aulo. breeding trios. my copadichromis i havent decided on a breeding tank size yet - they do quite fine breeding in my show tank

all the fish in this gorw out will stay together upgrading tanks while they grow in a group except for the maleri peacocks i haveto get 4-5 more and start a tank with them for the future

oh i forgot i have a green spotted puffer in a 20G hahaha only non-african, what can i say im a african freak


now everyoen canblab about how my tanksare to small thats fine i love to have the fish get big....perfect excuse fora bigger tank to the girlfriend D


currently im at my limit though im out of space the 6x30gs are still outside waiting for me to move and set the fishroom up.......that will be one happy day

but for holding i was thinkign about something liek this

and check if they can make them a little bit bigger but holding a female in this enviroment with a sponge should work out then and just having the fry stay in it tilli can put them in a grow out tank.

may I ask how you like your puffer? I am considering two green spotted puffers for a 60 gallon, but am mostly am an african fan myself

i like the puffer he was one of the first when i still had community fish but he has a great personality so i havent been able to get rid of him

a local fish junkie i get all my fish from...he breeds and resells fish on aquabid - these guys breed liek rabbits......i dont buy stock from any LFS really yallmight have some goodones but around here if i walk in and say Copadichromis they would think im speaking spanish or something.
