My dad brought home some new neolamprologus brichardi's. they're tiny and have white edges to their fins. the other brichardi i have has blue on the edges of her fins. is this because they are young (about 2cm) or because they are something different?

they are a different location/variety. You should get them out and move tthem to another tank because they will probably get killed by the original brichardi.

If they are similar size and there was only one in the tank originally, then they should be ok until they mature and start breeding. Then the third fish will probably get chased away and maybe killed, depending on tank size.
If you have different forms of brichardi it is best to keep them in separate tanks, or destroy any young they produce.
