A few months ago I bought a group of juvenile c.aeneus.
They were quite a wishy washy grey colour overall but perfectly healthy (sold as red c.aeneus).

Apart from having to get used to now calling them osteogaster aeneus their colour and patterns have changed in the last week to look like their profile pics (albeit not red :)). Does this mean they are now grown ups? And how far from sexual maturity. They are around 2.5 cm (or 1 inch) atm.

They are juvenile now, You'll have to wait some more. 😁 They are going to get a little bigger than that. They will be at least a year and 2.5 inch then.
