Recently, I OD'd Flourish Excel in my 125gal tank using spot treatment to get rid of Black Brush Algae that was starting to get everywhere.
I think I did it for 4 or 5 days. Not sure which.
About 2 days later, the water started to get very cloudy. And would get even worse whenever I fed the fish.
I thought maybe just the dying algae was causing it but now I'm thinking maybe the OD of the Excel has killed off some of the beneficial bacteria or something?

I honestly didn't even think about testing the water when it was cloudy. I did test it today though and all levels are normal. But the water is still cloudy. Not as much as it was before though. I've cleaned out the tank as good as I can and did a 50% water change in it.

Anyone else have this happen before? Was it the excel that caused whatever problem this is?

The fish in the tank are all fine. No odd or stressed behaviour, and of course the plants thoroughly enjoyed the excel (specially the anubias that grew new leaves every day I was using it :p)

Interesting...I recently had a bout of cloudy water and had started dosing daily with Seachem Flouish Excel around that same time. I didn't connect the two at all, but stopped adding the Excel about a week ago anyway and the cloudiness did clear up a few days later. You might be on to something there. Just had a quick google around and it does appear that others have had similar experiences.
