I have given in and I am moving my two Angles, 3 cherry barbs and grouami into another tank and setting the front tank up as a Discus tank
At the moment I have two in there and I was wondering how many more I could add.

The other tank mates are a Gibby, bristlenose, 2 pictus, 5 glass cats, leopard cory, 2 SAE.

So as you can see most of the middle and the top of the tank are free.

I was thinking 6 all up. The two in there are the moment are about 8cm

Thanks

I'd keep a total of 5. Have you researched the requirements of Discus with regard to water temperature and parameters? You could keep 6 but I find odd numbers work best. If you cut down on tank mates you could go for 7.

I'd remove the Gibby as it will get big and may suck on the discus, same goes with the SAEs, bristlenose should be fine but watch it in case. The pictus I would imagine could stress the discus out as they can be quick. Not sure about the glass cats, will be they be ok with the raised temp? Cories should be kept in groups, and only some like high temps.

I have done the research that is why the two I have now are still alive.
The fish I have in the tank now don't seem to bother the 2 discus. I am just wanting to move some out so for 1. I can put in a few more discus' and secondly I want the discus to be the main attraction.

Glass Cats just sit in the current and stay there all day, well almost, the olny time I see them more around is at feeding time when all fish go into a frenzy.

My two pictus don't go mad like most of gthe others I have had. They tend to stick by themselves under they logs and once again come out when it is feeding time.

Gibby I can't see being a problem because I know a few people who have a gibby in wiht Discus. These peopl ehave bigger gibby's and bigger Discus'

Thanks for your responce and I will see how I go
I have a tank I could put these other fish into but I have no filter or heater to go with it and I don't have the money.

Well good luck with it, personally I'd buy the heater and filter first as there probably isn't much difference in price between those and two good quality discus. Then you have the option to either move some fish around or use the spare tank as a quarantine tank.
