At the moment i have loads of snails which keep my diatoms level to zero. The snails are destroying my plants all the time though, so i want rid of them.
But as soon as i do that, the diatoms will come back.

So what are my options? how can i get rid of snails and diatoms?!?!?!?!?

How old is your tank? Diatoms are often seen in new tanks and can be linked to high levels of silicates. They usually disappear as quickly as they arrive. Increasing the length of time your lights are on can sometimes help eradicate them.

As for snails..... a couple of small loaches should do the trick, providing the snails aren't too big!

Good luck!

Tank is 6 months old and lights are on for 16 hours a day.
Tried less light as well but no effect.
Just got some loachs, so time to start eating snails....
