nice fish

mind if I ask you some questions?

what do you have as substate, it looks like mud

and how big is your tank becuase you have A LOT of alge and might want to get something that will eat that away for you, or maybe just clean it up.

lol it's not mud. It's a bare bottom tank. Actually easier to clean. What are those fish? I'm guessing some kind of Tetras...

EDIT: Spelling

If you have no substrate, I would seriously consider changing that as it will make the tank look much more natural, and maybe adding something that will eat algae? If you want a suggestion, the platies in my tank do very nicely, and there are lots of different varieties.

Some people like bare bottom tanks. Alot of bare bottom tanks are set up for breeding fish and this may be a case of that. Other times people just do it because its alot less matinence.

It's a quarantine tank. There were some otos in there until very recently, which is why there is so much brown algae. I just got the fish yesterday. Not gonna put them in the main tank for another 3 or 4 weeks as I would rather not introduce any nasties into my main tank. I've been through that before, and I have learned my lesson!
Also they're diamond tetras. Very nice so far, though it's only been a day. Hoping things will work out.
:)
