Diagnosis For A Friend Please

My friend's betta has been very well looked after, in a Fluval Edge. Please can you look at this pic and determine his cause of death?

I thought dropsy, but didn't know what the cut under his eye would be, or the fat belly?

the belly tends to swell up with dropsy

im not sure about the cut though, looks like he's caught it on something maybe?

Yes, I think it's dropsy too with the bloating and the pinecone-like scales. The cut, I think, is unrelated to the dropsy? Idk.

thats most defently dropsy. thats how i lost livingston, pinecone and loss of color.

actually a one-two punch for that poor guy...ulcerations and dropsy. cant say which developed first but my bet is one led to the other. fish was stressed and ill, couldnt fight off the illness(BOTH bacterial BTW) and the other took hold. poor guy likely not anything the owner could do once even ONE set in, let alone both. and possibly the same bacterial species is the culprit for BOTH conditions.
