Hey all !

My new tank is coming within the week and i need your help on setting it up, I know i need to cycle it now (thanks from before guys ;) ) But i also need a bit od direction on some other bits and peices.

I currently have.....

1 pleco - sticky
1 blue gourami - piri
4 black neons - tj's (don't ask) :hyper:
1 male betta - weeble
2 female betta - tara + lara
1 angel - buffy (get it?) :D
1 rtbs - arty
4 orange and yellow molly
2 yellow guppys (may have these the wrong way round)

Thay are in a hexagonal tank which i think i was told holds about 50 litres (at a guess now) Now i know this is overstocked.

My new tank is a 3ft x 2 ft x 1ft tank And i want to keep both so the question is this do i transfer all my current fish to the new tank as they are all happy living together and buy new fish for my current tank OR split them up into two tanks.

If you think i should transfer all current fish to new tank, what sort of fancy fish can i put in my old tank, and how many as i don't want to overstock again.

Also how long should my new tank be cycled for ? ?

I know this is a bit long winded and will happily re-iterate anything that doesn't make sense.

Thanks Again ;)

I'm a newbie to Bettas, but you shouldn't keep them with Gouramis, and the males and females should not be kept together unless you want to breed them and then its only for short times. Male Bettas also shouldn't be kept with Guppys as they can mistake them for other Bettas.

Please please spend some time on this forum and Google and research the fish you have purchased, as I don't know a lot about the other types of fish you have but you've already got 3 potential problems on your hands. Your best option is probably to keep the male Betta in your small tank on his own or with some suitable tank mates, see the Bettas section of the tank. As far as I know females can be kept in a community, but I'm not sure if they'd be ok with your other fish or not.
