Detached Leaves? Good, Bad, N/A

I have a heavily planted tank and consequently get leaves and other plant debris floating around and sitting on thebottom of the tank. Does this debris have any affect on the water quality of my tank that I need to be worried about. I do 30-40% water changes 1-2 times a week.

Take them out of your tank. They increase "waste" in water when they decompose.

Does this need to be done dailey or can I wait until I do my water changes?

I usually take them out when doing something in water... hmm... weekly maybe... If they float on surface then they can be easily removed.
