Much bigger range than Tropica. Plants are really good quality.

My LFS has just started stocking them. I didn't even know they did plants. I thought they just did hardware.

Maybe thats just my ignorance?

Very interesting. I will look out for them around my area and the internet.

Thanks for the info.

Andy

Didnt know this. Do they have a website shop?

Sam

Quite a good site and provides a lot of info. I do like the T8 reflectors. Pity they don't do a T5 version.

Couldn't help but pick this error up though. lol

N45 Nuphar japonica
Spatterdock
East Asia
Characteristics: Thick, green rhizome. Splendid translucent leaves of light green color. Height: 25 cm.
Mine is 35cm tall and this is with regular pruning. lol

Growth rate: 1-2 leaves per month.
I prune off 4-6 leaves a month so I should just have a stalk

Propagation: Difficult: Side shoots from the rhizome.
Easy - Sharp knife and cut vertically through the rhizome giving you 2 plants.

Demands: Regular fertilization. Free standing position.

Special note: Only grows floating leaves occasionally. These should be removed before they reach the surface.
Every leaf hits the surface due to the height of the plant. but they are not 'floating' like Lilys. Just tall.

It also says on Anubias Barteri growth rate - 5-6 leaves per year!!!! I think they may have problems with their growth rate info. I wonder if these growth rates are a judgement on the Dennerle lighting, ferts used etc?

I'm going to look through all the other plants for a laugh now. lol

Nice find though.

Well picked up Andy.

Tropica seems to be the same. As an example, they reckon Aponogeton Crispus grows to 50cm. Mine is more like 70cm. I think these things usually refer to normal growing conditions and i think Tropica may even have a note somewhere to say that if favourable conditions are provided, plants may do better.

Maybe Dennerle's info is based on the same assumptions? Just a thought.

I'm seriously considering one of their pressurised CO2 systems. They look minted!

I'll be trying their liquid ferts when mine run out too. I'll let you know how i get on. :good:
