As I was looking at my tank today I noticed one of my guppys looked mishaped so as I took a closer look i noticed it was really deformed with like a hunchback. Although yesterday the guppy did not appear to be this way.

Anyone suggest why this has happened and if it could endanger the guppy?

:)

Thanks Matt B

I would issolate the guppy just to be on the safe side, is she also thin.

Just keep a close eye on the fish, good luck.

For guppies a hunched back is a pretty normal problem. Being inbred as much as the species is, they have a tendency to develop malformalities. Its probably just an inherited problem but its best to isolate it just in case it is a transmitable disease.

Looks like it was a disease since both my female guppies have died and my male has produce a lot of whiteness on its scales so its not looking good :(

Sorry, R.I.P. Are the patches fluffy on the fish.

No the patches are not fluffy R.I.P My lil guppies :(

i had been getting all kinds of deformitys in my guppy spawns, i just desided to scratch teh whole project because i was culling like 3/4 of every batch, and those were only teh ones who had no chance at all, there are a ton of em who are misshapened and deformed. its very common in domestic stock.
