Hi all, i will be decorating my kitchen in the next month and i was wondering if there are any precautions i should consider for my tank. The tank is not in the kitchen, but in the lounge right next to the kitchen. I will only be emulsioning the ceiling and walls, not glossing. Should i cover the tank with a blanket, it has 2 glass sliding lids and a hood, or will just keeping the kitchen door be ok? GRJ :fish:

We recently decorated our hall, emulsion on the ceiling and walls, and high solvent satin on the woodwork. One of the door frames is next to the tank and we had to leave the door open when we did that one so as not to get paint on it.
I just kept the door closed until we did that frame, then I used a blanket over the tank and put in an extra small filter filled filled with carbon, and all my fish survived with no signs of paint fume poisoning. I was also advised to use a fan blowing from the fish tank towards the paint if we had one (we don't).
If you do use a blanket, don't forget to turn the lights off if the blanket touches them!
