Hello,

I have a 2ft by 1ft tank thats 2 ft tall so the side on view is 2ft by 2ft a big square!

Could anyone with a tall tank give me tips on decor. Its got a sand bottom and i like the old driftwood and live plants look but the trouble with that is that you end up with a great looking base but then the upper 2/3 of the tank is just bare water.

any ideas on tall tropical plants, tall orniments ect or pictures of members tall tanks

Many thanks

id try vals or onion plants.grow tall.also get a tall peice of wood.they sell them all different sizes.

Aponogeton Ulvaceus is also a high grower - produces a lovely canopy effect over the top of the tank (but does get large)

I planted some hygrophila polysperma (rosanerveg) which grows to the top of my 50cm tank with ease.. i chopped it in half the other week and before you know it, its breaking the top of the water again.. pinch off the top sections to help it bush out a bit more.. its a fast growing weeeeeeed... but i like it.

I second, i use to have this plants, it grows so tall, and occupy the whole tank, it could be very atrractive in a tall tank

Use a couple peices of bog wood and screw them together(using screws that will not leach anything harmful cant remeber which ones those are
or use wooden dowling), and tie down some anubius nana along it on the way up, then on the sides plant the Hygrophilia polysperm to fill in the sides if you feel the need. For the bottom of my tanks i love my vals spirals.

My water sprites also grow very tall. They can reach the top of the water surface if I do not trim them. I also have a tall tank like yours. Pretty much a the same size too!

You can flatten an end of a bit of bog-wood, drill a hole, screw a suction-cup onto the end, and attach it to the side of the tank. It sounds odd, but the LFS near me has these for sale and has them in a display tank, and it actually looks really natural - you would need to watch where you put it.
